Don Walker has gained expertise in preclinical drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics as applied to drug discovery and development through 24 years’ experience with Pfizer Global Research and Development (UK) in various management roles and senior scientific roles in the departments of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics and Metabolism. He has been a member and leader of global Pfizer teams involved in harmonisation of scientific best practices and maintaining the organisation at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation.
Don has served as line representative for many internal project development programs (including sildenafil for erectile dysfunction and pulmonary hypertension, dofetilide for cardiac arrhythmia and maraviroc for HIV) and licensing evaluations with external companies. He is a contributing author to global regulatory submission dossiers and query responses in areas of his scientific expertise for sildenafil, dofetilide, maraviroc and voriconazole. He also serves as an industry and academic tutor in the fields of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics and physicochemistry as applied to drug discovery and is also author of over 50 scientific papers and book chapters.
